John Krasinski Named 2024’s Sexiest Man Alive by PEOPLE Magazine: ‘More Household Chores Are in My Future,’ He Jokes”
PEOPLE Magazine has named its 2024 Sexiest Man Alive, and John Krasinski-forever known as TV’s charming and talented breakout-has spoken to People about the surprise and honor this selection has brought him. His wife, actress Emily Blunt, joked she’d love to wallpaper their home with the cover-to which Krasinski replied, “It won’t be weird at all.” And then, of course, upon first actually hearing the news, Krasinski says he felt an “immediate blackout” and “zero thoughts,” wondering if he was being Punk’d. He added, “This isn’t exactly something I expect to wake up to – but you guys really raised the bar.” Because of memorable roles as a favorite paper salesman, a former Marine turning CIA agent and a dedicated family man, Krasinski, 45, says that deep inside he is all about the simple pleasures of being a father: Netflix documentaries, reading bedtime stories, husband and dad.

John Krasinski lives in Brooklyn with his wife of 14 years, actress Emily Blunt, 41, and their two daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 8. He confesses that when he told Blunt his exciting news, she was thrilled:. Blunt is sure funny, even joking that if he graced the cover as “Sexiest Gentleman,” she’d wallpaper their house with it-the joke immediately sending their kids into hysterics. Now best known for his iconic role as Jim Halpert on The Office, Krasinski expanded his career into writing, directing, and starring with Blunt in the critically acclaimed thriller A Quiet Place, also a smash hit begot two sequels. It was evident on 13 Hours, it would appear, that Krasinski was intent on maintaining himself in the best possible shape and then further showcased that by playing the titular character in Prime Video’s Jack Ryan, a series now set to translate into a highly-anticipated feature film.

This year, John Krasinski gave Hollywood a wake-up call with his film IF, which he wrote, produced and directed in addition to acting in-truly cementing his status as one of the industry’s leading filmmakers. Success didn’t happen in one night, however. Krasinski comically recalls pitching A Quiet Place more than 50 times before finally getting studio approval. He says his role has come full circle, looking back, “They probably are thinking, ‘Is Jim from The Office directing this?’ but now they know it is John.
This Hollywood powerhouse values the life he has built up with his wife, actress Emily Blunt. Krasinski characterizes marriage as a journey of continuous growth and partnership. “Marriage is about learning, changing, and evolving, and I’m so lucky to have Emily by my side,” he says.
And despite his Hollywood success, Krasinski jokes it might earn him even more household chores. “Emily will probably remind me I have to ‘earn’ my new title at home,” he laughs.
